Can you do these? If you CAN do this, now’s the time to introduce yourself to two other people near you and help them to be able to do it also! Let’s try this small sample.

Instructions: Follow these computer directions for a mini-hunt!

Please answer the following questions, then save your answers to the desktop, then email them to yourself!

    1. What is the circumference of a circle? http://www.mathlearning.com/
    2. What primary language is spoken in Borneo? http://www.borneo-online.com.my/

Here’s some help, if you need it!

Keeping your current browser open, open a word processing document.

To move between two programs:

On a Windows machine:

  • Hold down the ALT key and tap the TAB key. The programs currently running will loop sequentially on the screen. Let go of the keys to open the program displayed. If you’re running Windows ’95, you can just click on the menu bar along the bottom of the screen.

On a Macintosh machine:

  • Click on the multi-finder in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (the icon farthest in the corner). A pop-up menu will appear when you depress the mouse button. You will see the word processor and Web browser titles there. Select the one you want to open.

To copy and paste text from the Internet:

  • Highlight the text, choose EDIT: COPY, open the file where you will paste, click the mouse where you want to paste, and select EDIT: PASTE. Or use the keyboard shortcuts: ctrl-x to copy, ctrl-v to paste.

To copy and paste pictures from the Internet:

  • Right-click (if you have a multi-button mouse) and hold down the mouse button for a few seconds until a pop-up menu appears. If your mouse has only one button, just click and hold the button until the pop-up menu appears. Select COPY IMAGE. Open the file where you want to paste the picture clicking the mouse where you want the picture to appear. Select EDIT:PASTE.
