Chapter 7 - Virex

 

Virex is the district supported and purchased virus protection software for Macintosh computers. The simplest way to use Virex is to drop a file or folder onto the icon for Virex. Once the scan is complete, a report is displayed in the results area. This report can be printed, saved as a text file, or cleared. It is important to keep your Virex up to date with the latest virus definitions. The example above is downloading an updated list of viruses. Check with your School Tech Rep to see if you are up to date with your virus protection software

Preferences can be set as to when a scan is done automatically, and what to do with infected files if found. You can also request that Virex check for updates when it launches.
