Pioneering a New Planet | |
(Grades 5 - 8)
Students explore the solar system and examine the characteristics of each planet. Students demonstrate an understanding of the planets through Internet research and apply their knowledge to find a viable alternative planet for human habitation. They then apply their persuasive writing skills to encourage modern pioneers to move to the new planet. Teams make an oral presentation to the class. This unit will last approximately 15 – 20 days depending on the selection of optional activities.
